The Lost Canyon Workshop Series will offer classes for beginners and experts on a variety of different topics, perfect for the aspiring home mechanic who wants to take their skills to the next level.

Basic Flat Repair Class

Using Tire Plugs - Installing Sealant - Using CO2 - Installing Tubes

Tire Plugs

Each student will get the opportunity to use tire plugs to fix a hole on a mountain bike tire.  We will show the best ways to do this and what to avoid so you're ready on the trail.

C02 Inflation

How to re-inflate your tire after a puncture and weather you should carry CO2 or a hand pump

Sealant

Cover how to install sealant and when you might need to.  How to know if your tire is out of sealant or if it is flat for a different reason

Tubes

How to install a tube as a last resort and if you even need to carry one.  When to install a tube instead of a tire plug.

This will be a relaxed and beginner friendly class, perfect for anyone who is unsure about what to do if they have a tire issue on the trail

Suspension Fork Service and Tuning

If you have wanted to learn more about how suspension forks work or start servicing your suspension on your own, this class is for you.

 

With a small group of students we will discuss how forks work, what components need to be serviced and how to complete a fork service.

 

Each student will complete a hands on fork service and we will discuss any questions and cover common mistakes that can be made while servicing suspension.   ​

Deep Dive Into Servicing a Suspension Fork

Fork Components

We will cover an overview of how forks work and the controls on each fork.  Discuss the different internal components and common designs of modern suspension forks.

Fork Tuning

Discuss common complaints about suspension feel and how to address them.  Learn what all the dials do and how to use air pressure, volume reducers, compression, and rebound together to get desired performance out of the fork

Fork Maintenance

Learn what parts of the fork need replaced and how to install them.  How to properly clean and lubricate the fork while apart.

Hands On Experience

Students are encouraged to bring their own bike and we will service the fork during the class.   Students will get hands on experience taking their fork apart, replacing seals, cleaning, lubricating and installing the fork.  

Class Details

  • Class is 4-6 hours (approximate)

  • Experience is not necessary

  • Tools and materials will be provided

  • Students will have the knowledge to complete a fork lower service by end of class

  • 3 to 6 students per class

  • Fork seals and oil for your personal fork will included in the cost

  • Leave class with a completed 50 hour fork service ( $110 value)
